Health Trainers
A Health Trainer is a community member who is passionate about influencing peoples' health in a positive way. They are:
-
People recruited from the local community and trained in health improvement
-
Equipped with a core set of skills to provide practical one to one support and guidance
-
Not medical advisers but work with individuals to set and achieve health goals
A good Health Trainer does not need to have specific qualifications or experience. What is most important is to have:
- Good listening and communication skills
- Good knowledge of the local community
- Passion and dedication to improving the health of the local community
