Brent Stop Smoking Service

The Brent Stop Smoking Service has recently undergone changes in personnel and their approach to helping smokers quit. The team now consists of three Stop Smoking Specialists  - Dawna Gordon, Seema Gupta and Ibrahim Khan.

Joining the team is newly appointed Stop Smoking Service Manager - Susan Hearn

NHS Brent has produced new publicity materials in 24 languages signposting pharmacies that will help smokers give up in their own language. These will be available shortly in GP surgeries, clinics, libraries and other outlets.

A number of initiatives have been taking place recently to help spread the word and create awareness about BSSS. The most high-profile of these initiatives include a photoshoot with Colin Baker, the distinguished actor who played the sixth Doctor Who in the BBC science fiction series from 1984-1986. Colin Baker is helping to promote local pharmacies and the Brent Stop Smoking Service.

In addition, a new range of promotional publicity will be available, including booklets, posters and limited edition postcards. These have already begun to be distributed around GP's and pharmacies to work with us to help more people stop smoking. The booklets contains maps to outline the location and flags to determine the various languages spoken within different Brent pharmacies.
